Yes, actually, at some crossings marked as private (protected by a stop sign), usually a persons driveway, or a business entrance, you are not required to blow unless there is someone at the crossing. |

That must be an Illinois thing, here in CA trains are required to blow their horn at all crossings, private or public. |
