Awesome video, you did a great job on this one John, thanks! One question, was there a reason why he didn't blow his horn at some of those rural crossings?

Posted by John Witthaus on November 12, 2007

Yes, actually, at some crossings marked as private (protected by a stop sign), usually a persons driveway, or a business entrance, you are not required to blow unless there is someone at the crossing.

Where did this start at?

Posted by John Witthaus on November 13, 2007

The video starts at Valley Jct. in E. St. Louis, IL.

Posted by CaliforniaRailroader on November 17, 2007

That must be an Illinois thing, here in CA trains are required to blow their horn at all crossings, private or public.

Nice video John. It's to see the view of the arch from the cab. Thanks for sharing.
