Remarks: It's the final run for the weekend of the NS sponsored Santa Train. On this run, the 957 Special goes a bit further west then most of the other trips to Dekalb which gave me the chance to pace the train for a few miles. The Monticello Museum owned MLW makes some noise as she pulls the train back east toward Decatur.

Dekalb is on the C&NW-UP in Northern Illinois about 200 miles from Monticello. Do you mean another town? Even Decatur is not on the Monticello museum line is it?
To answer Tim's question, the location is at Dekalb, IL spelled different from the De Kalb up in northern Illinois. The Monticello Museum is several mile northeast of Decatur. NS used the Monticello power to run the Santa Train on NS track. Kent

Dekalb is the new name for a control point (absolute block) which in the past was called West Illiopolis it is located at MP 394.5 or about 3 miles west of main street illiopolis which is approximately MP 391.5
