Remarks: Am I correct in calling this a bare table train? What is the purpose of running an entire unit of empty intermodal cars?

Sometimes it costs more to put cars in storage than it does to run them, therefore the railroads run these type of trains to keep the cars out of storage. The BNSF use to do this quite a bit a few years ago.

Nice to see a operation lifesaver unit, the third locomotive.
