Remarks: CSX 2541 still looks great in full SCL paint at Deshler, Ohio. The B&O Chicago line is still single track in 1989 with the CPL's still in tact. Scene two has a Seaboard System GE leading, Scene 3 has a Seaboard System geep leading and the 4th scene is taken at Leipsic, Ohio with a Seaboard System six axle GE crossing the NS Fostoria District. Footage was taken by my brother Kevin.
One of the great railfan locations in the USA witha fine piece of history for all of us to enjoy. Thanks to the Nelson Brothers for sharing their excellent work for all rail fans to view. Always look forward to trips to Deshler and see the present day operations, and remember the history of this region.
Very enjoyable scenes that stir up wonderful memories! Always enjoy seeing the "Bumble Bee" paint scheme. Those Leslie horns on the 2nd and 3rd train sound sweet. Also liked hearing the sounds of dynamic brakes working and hard chugging of GEs. Enjoyable railfanning here.
Thank you for posting.
Awesome video! I like how the middle unit on the first train is belching smoke as it goes by. This video brings back many childhood memories of watching trains in Ohio I remember lots of colorful consists of ragged old chessie locomotives and Seaboard System units. Hope to see more of this from you:)
