Let me be the first (hopefully) to comment. This is gonna be a hit. Nice work. Some people are just plain stupid. |

Makes you wonder if at some point in time, as a rail fan and a contributor to this site, you will unwittingly film a bad accident at a rail crossing. That would stick with me, without a doubt. When are people going to get smarter when crossing a railroad track? |

You know Oldtoot, I don't think people are going to get smarter at crossings, because they still think a train will stop for them. And what they should know is that trains are NOT like cars, as (I"ll bet everyone on this site knows) that at train take over 1 1/2 mile to stop going over 50 MPH. |

Besides the close call, nice video of the SD60. Awesome horn tone too. |

How hard is it just to STOP! It probably took only 3 minutes for the train to go by. |

He nearly dented a perfectly good diesel! |

That wasn't very close the train took nearly 10 seconds to get to the crossing after the car past. I've seen much closer. |

Actually, I timed it and it was only 4 seconds between the time the car's rear bumper was clear of the crossing, and when the locomotive was on the crossing. |

That is a beautiful Leslie RS-5T horn, it's a shame to think the driver didn't take notice to its wonderful harmony. |

Someone should learn to count their seconds more accurately. Exactly 4 seconds (not 10) between the rear vehicle bumper clearing the grade crossing and the front pilot of the lead KCS SD60 crossing the road pavement. At that somewhat slow speed, that was pretty close meaning not so smart driver (unprotected crossing or not). |

I was wondering what kind of horn that was! It sure sounded pretty. I remember those on some N&W and SCL locomotives. Lovely sound at night. What do you say about someone like that driver? He's an absolute idiot. |

It almost looked like the train was preparing to stop for the car. |

Engineers must see this often. The locomotive always wins. People are safer skydiving, than dodging a locomotive. |

It's funny how the driver of the car just casually crosses the track without a care in the world. However a very serious and stupid thing to do. When will people learn. |

Another exaple of train vs car except car wins. This is why all crossings need GATES! Even if there was gates people would still be in a rush and run them! People are STUPID! |
