Remarks: We visit the Rough & Tumble Engineers Historical Association during the Annual Thresherman's Reunion, for some neat steam action! We'll get to see the 'Little Toot Railroad', operating steam tractors, gas-powered tractors, gas-powered stationary equipment (such as water pumps), and of course, the Shay Railroad. So sit back, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of this annual event.
If Western Maryand 3-Truck Shay #6, at the Cass Scenic Railroad, is the largest Shay ever built, than #4 here must bee the smallest, because I've never seen a Shay locomotive that small before.

Is that the RDG 6 chime whistle used on the 425? it looks and counds just like it.
Shay 6 isn't the largest shay ever built...The largest Shay ever outshopped by Lima was a Class 3, 160 ton monster for the Kansas City Southern in 1913. The largest Shay ever to operate was WVP&P #12, which was at Cass at one time, and was a 150 ton model originally (WM #6 is also a 150 ton, although it's weight is 162)

The shay at Rough & Tumble was home built back in the 1960's. it was built by a late member and he built it from a steam tractor.
