Awesome video Robert. Can't get any better then this in 2008. Nothing beats the sound of Alco's & MLW's. |

I don't know if anyone is aware, but there were 3 (yes 3!) RS3s pushing this train on the rear! |

By far one of the best MLW/ALCO videos to date. Great sound, I suppose I would've been greedy to ask them to notch it up. |

Awesome stuff. I used to work with the Alco S2, RS3, C424 & C425 engines, so this video brings back fond memories. Here in northern Ohio we are enjoying another winter storm and I'm train watching in the comfort of my home. Thanks to you Bob and all the others who make this possible. |

just great "251" racket. Even though many crews felt that EMD units rode nicer and were often more reliable, many that I've spoken with over many years openly admitted that Alco's were good pullers and were good at low speed application where they just got down and lugged. Alco did a very brisk "export" business. There are still some 2500 Alco designs working for the Indian National Railway built in India by DLW. They look a bit odd but, the sound leaves little doubt to what you are hearing Nicely done !. |
