Ultra high quality videos are encoded at a higher video resolution (640x480, the size of this light gray box), are sampled at bitrates of 4000+k/sec, have no compression added, and may be viewed by our valued RVElite members in full-screen mode.
Remarks: At 8:07am on Saturday, April 19, 1997, a southbound manifest train rumbles through Hoxie, Arkansas, on BNSF's Thayer South Subdivision behind BN SD40-2 #8160, BN SD40-2 #7889, and LMX B39-8E #8513. Ironically, I shot the same locomotive leading CSXT manifest train Q583 as HLCX #8160 (in Heritage 1 paint) in December 2003. Reference Rail Video #717. It since has been repainted into Helm's blue paint scheme.
This is only the second locomotive I've ever seen with ditch lights that operate like this. The other one was a Southern Pacific rebuilt SD45. Nice catch!
