Remarks: Various scenes of M&E 17 with cars for the Toys R Us distribution center in Flanders. There are numerous stops to flag road crossings and this provides several opportunities to see and hear M&E 17 at work.
it's great to know these rare birds have still survived to this day on the WNYP.. The ex 3000's Susie-Q's are all in black but looking and sounding great. The last NYC new Alco power delivered 12/67. Big as 4 axle road power goes but, love those unique "Hi-Ad" trucks. I believe the Susie-Q 3000's were all re cabled with Copper High Voltage cables to replace the Alloy stock product. Only 16 built the last 5 work for WNYP It's nice to hear that 251-E spooling up in this video. A 4 exle version of a C 630. Conrail was pleased to sell off all their Alco's in the early 1980's. They were much like orphans but, some did receive extensive mechanical work
