Remarks: ex GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe working flat out accelerating the London Christmas Shopper Railtour away from its stop at Didcot. This railtour had a very fast timing from Didcot to Slough, was scheduled to run non stop through Reading, and can be seen here being crossed over onto the Up Fast line at the western end of Moreton cutting. Unfortunately the weather was awful. The sound of this 4 cylinder machine being worked really hard is fantastic. 5043 was only finished being restored to steam in October 2008 having last worked under its own power in December 1963
