Remarks: I've been wanting to catch a trio of KCS SD70ACes for quite some time since these are RARE in this part of the country. Joint NS-KCS intermodal train I-DAAT/#220 (Dallas, TX/KCS-Atlanta, GA) has consistently been an early morning daylight train on the Birmingham East District since its inception in 1994 until recently when it began arriving at Atlanta's Inman Yard in the wee hours of the morning. Naturally, I was excited yesterday when I learned that #220 was running about 6 hours late with a trio of KCS SD70ACes, the #4109, #4108, and #4029. I was able to chase the train approximately 45 miles---shooting the train first at Edwardsville, Alabama; then just east of control point "Hubbard" near Tallapoosa, Georgia; just west of Temple near Morgan; and finally at control point "Baggett" just east of Villa Rica. Hopefully, a matched trio of Southern Belle SD70ACes will show up in daylight soon.
