Remarks: In the last light of day late in November 2008, #75 is getting up to track speed as it overtakes traffic on the Gardiner Expressway, departing the Centre of the Universe (as Torontonians see it anyway). Although it isn't rare to see corridor trains with a pair of F40s, this is only the second time I've seen VIA head up a train with power from both builders - the first time GE was in the lead.

Speaking of power; does anyone know why VIA # 1 & 2 (The Canadian) always have F40PHs on the head end (not that there's anything wrong with that). In fact, the GEs seem to be assigned only from Toronto and East.

Toronto west there are no passenger speeds above 80mph. They keep the GE's in the corridor where they can use the LRC coaches at 100mph.

Sounds reasonable. Of course Toronto-Windsor is SW and uses the GEs.
