Remarks: This will be the last state line coal train to run on the Eastern Sub. Under the operation of the EJ&E on their final day. It was good while it lasted
I can understand the statements that I have read about the loss of a 100 plus year old railway company. But for crying out loud people,it is not a total loss.Your not loseing a rail operation. The C.N.I.C will still give these guys thier jobs and a whole new adventure begins.Newer operations will form and newer updated lines will be added. The passenger service will most likely be extended into areas not seen before and freight service will see a better set up, the trains bigger and longer and with more up to date powerfull fuel efficient locomotives.
In these econmic times of business closures, perhaps the EJ&E and the crews in that train and any others in the fleet just might have been saved form the un-employment line.I do as you, see the end of a company but,I see more a New Beginning and another 100 years of railfanning in the area.
