Remarks: Conrail Elkhart to Indianapolis ELIN with leader 6173 appears to have turbocharger problems as she accelerates past the diamond at Marion, Indiana. Looks like a Alco at work. Scene from DVD# H8-20.

I Thought that the Engineer or the Conductor would have at least saw that there was something wrong on the train. Great Video Kent.

G'day Kent, Alcos were prone to turbo lag. I never had a turbo go bang on me, but I am told that it makes a LOT of noise. I have not had much to do with GE units, so don't know how prevalent it is for turbo problems on them. Good video.
