Remarks: Rare footage on the now defunct C&O through Indiana line with a pair of Seaboard System units at Marion, Indiana. The pair has just made a switch at Phoenix siding, then proceed west to Peru, Indiana. The end is near for this line in 1987 as the western portion of this line will be pulled up from 15 miles west of Marion to Chicago in the next year. The portion from Cincinnati to Marion will be pulled up in 1993.
Well that's too bad for that line but thanks for taking the time to catch something rare like this.

Kent: Keep posting anything you have from the C&O of Indiana as there is very little video of it around. What a shame that line got ripped out as it was in great physical shape. I enjoy seeing it alive in your videos.

Seaboard System 5749 is a U36B, ex-Seaboard Coast Line 1797. A better catch than a B36-7 in my opinion.

Kent, I enjoy watching your videos. As Chad said, I would also love to see more of the C&O's Chicago Division. Both of my parents grew up along this line and my grandfather still tells stories about the K2 Mikes and the quaint local passenger service pulled by A-16 Atlantics. My grandfather also knew an engineer from this line and he said that it was a mistake to remove the line as it had 360 lb rail and was the newest and smoothest line. I actualy have a peice of some of that rail at home.
