Remarks: The opening scene finds a trio of SD40T–2’s with an SD50 easing westbound coal into motion during an afternoon rainstorm, the cautious start reflective of the steep descent ahead. Scene Two depicts a BN GP40 making a full-throttle escape from the siding at Frenchtown, Montana, while leading an eastbound no-two-the-same quintet on the MRL. Scene Three also features a GP40, this time an SSW that is also leading a no-two-the-same quintet (elephant fashion) westbound out of the hole at Mecca on the Yuma Sub. Scene Four offers a little GE smoke and burble as a CW40–8/C30–7 team up on an eastbound departing Milford, Utah. Scene Five features the talents of a Cascade Green quartet of SD40–2’s getting out of Kansas City, Missouri with a three-digit string of company hoppers trailing behind. A rare SD40–2B, the result of a wreck rebuild, was the real treat here.
